Lonca Studio Showcases Mediterranean Birds Demonstration at GAS Conference 2024 in Berlin

In May 2024, Lonca Studio had the honor of participating as a presenter at the prestigious Glass Art Society (GAS) Conference held in Berlin, Germany. This annual gathering brings together over 1,000 glass enthusiasts from more than 40 countries, celebrating the vibrant energy of Berlin and the global glass community.

During the conference, Lonca Studio presented the “Mediterranean Birds” demonstration, highlighting the intricate Encalmo technique—a Venetian glassblowing method that involves fusing different glass sections to create seamless color transitions.  This technique demands great precision, as the edges of the adjoining elements must have precisely the same diameter.

The demonstration was met with enthusiasm from attendees, who appreciated the fusion of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The GAS Conference provided an invaluable platform for artists and designers to connect, inspire, and empower all facets of the global glass community.

Lonca Studio is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this esteemed event and looks forward to future collaborations within the international glass art community.
